Recipe: Karbanátky from the Czech Republic!


Today's meal is from the #CzechRepublic, and it was easy and delicious to make: #Karbanátky! This was not only delicious, but easy and quick to make, with an ingredient list that is not too intimidatingly long or complicated.


Yum, yum, yum - Let's get started!

 

KARBANÁTKY ("Fried Meat Patties")

Prep: 15 Minutes

Cook: 30 Minutes

Serves: 4-6 People

Serve with: Mashed Potatoes and Fresh Vegetables


Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb (700 gm) Ground Pork

  • 0.5 lb (300 gm) Ground Beef

  • 1 medium Onion

  • 4 cloves Garlic

  • 1 Egg

  • 2 teaspoons Salt

  • Pepper,

  • 2-3 tablespoons crushed Marjoram (crush between palms)

  • 4 tablespoons chopped Parsley

  • Cooking Oil

  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs

Directions:

  1. By hand, mix pork and beef with egg, herbs and pepper until well combined.

  2. Add crushed garlic and salt.

  3. Set mixture aside.

  4. Cut the onion and fry in a pan in oil until soft.

  5. Add to meat mixture and mix well.

  6. Form mixture into small meatball patties - no larger than the size of your palm.

  7. Coat each patty in breadcrumbs.

  8. Fry patties in a frying pan in oil, or on the grill.

  9. Flip several times while cooking, until no longer pink in the center, and exterior lightly crispy.
