TRAVEL & ACCOMODATIONS

It will be very easy to get from Berlin to Paris. Most airlines can get us there in less than a couple of hours, for around 100 Euros.

The majority of attractions we will be visiting during our virtual tour will be in Paris, so that will be our home base. We will be staying at Le Metropolitan Hotel, which has arguably the best view possible!

During our stay, for attractions further afield, we can take day trips or overnights in order to reach those attractions.

ITINERARY

PARIS

Perhaps we will arrive in the early evening, and have the opportunity to watch the iconic sunset at the Eiffel Tower. Here's a chance to see it on video first.

A visit to Paris isn't complete without a stroll through the romantic old quarters throughout the city. Here is a stroll specifically through the Latin Quarter.

Then, of course, we will head over to check out the world famous Louvre Museum.

Whether for an extended period, or just for dinner or sightseeing, we won't want to miss a cruise on the Siene River.

We've all seen photos of this iconic landmark. Today, we will not only see it from the outside, but from the inside too, as we climb to the top.

After such a fun day, we will wind down our evening by checking out a different side of Paris at a Moulin Rouge show.

We will then learn about and experience the Catacombs de Paris.

The Notre Dame Cathedral has always been a major historical attraction in the city of Paris. The world watched in horror as it burned and threatened to collapse in 2019. Today, restoration is under way. Perhaps by the time we are able to visit in person, it will be restored and ready for our visit.

At the outskirts of the city sits the Chateau de Versailles, where we will experience the Royal Serenade in the Hall of Mirrors.

About an hour from the city, we will have a magical Saturday 'Candlelit Evening'.

For a bit of inspiration and rejuvination, we will visit Monet's Gardens in Giverny, about an hour from Paris.

DAY/WEEKEND TRIPS

If we have some extra time during our virtual visit and we are looking for something off the beaten path, we can check out these cool spots:

The artists' villages in Provence are considered among the most charming and beautiful in France. Here is one such example.

France is world renowned for its food, and its cooking. While in Provence, it will be fun to take a cooking class and learn from the best!

Our family loves to play the board game based upon the fortress city, Carcassonne, so we won't want to miss visiting the real thing!

We can go swimming, sailing and sunning on the French Riviera, and specifically, a stop in Saint Tropez is a must.

In addition to Cote d'Azur:

While we are on the French Riviera, we can visit Pierre Cardin's Bubble Palace. The reality is that if we were visiting in person, we could not visit this private residence unless we are so well connected to be invited to an exclusive party, so visiting virtually wins out, in this specific situation!

Arguably one of the most premier film festivals in the world takes place in Cannes. Once we get to the other side of the pandemic, the red carpet will sparkle again, and it would be fun to see the celebrations in person.

As the water recedes, taking a pilgrimage to the breathtaking Mont Saint-Michel is in order.

A visit to Champagne-Ardenne will afford a beautiful tour and a glass of bubbly!

Next, we will take a funculaire ride down below ground into this amazing stalactite cave.

Finally, we can't visit France with our fun-loving family without visiting Europa Park!
